It is mainly dedicated to R&amp;D in the areas of olfactory sensing and electronic noses but some types can also be used for static\/pulsed-field torque magnetometry and force sensing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MSS offered by NANOSENSORS via the<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/pdf\/SpecialDevelopmentsList.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"> Special Developments List <\/a>are raw sensor platforms intended to provide researchers with a platform for their research so that they don\u2019t have to start their setup from scratch. The MSS sensors will still need to be coated with detection layers developed and applied by the individual researchers in order to become functional sensors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are currently two major applications for this type of sensor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u00a0the MSS has a great potential as a core component for electronic (artificial) nose systems \/ olfactory sensing systems utilized in e.g. food, environment, safety and security and medical ( e.g. human breath analysis ) fields.<br>\u00a0NANOSENSORS offers two types of MSS sensors for this application.: SD-MSS-1K2G and SD-MSS-1K2GP. <br>The recently introduced <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/blog\/nanosensors-adds-new-membrane-type-surface-stress-sensors-mss-type-for-liquid-applications-to-special-developments-list\/\" target=\"_blank\">SD-MSS-1K2GP<\/a> can also be employed for \u201cliquid\u201d or \u201cwet\u201d applications thereby extending the potential use of MSS sensors to R&amp;D in the sensing of taste, detections of chemical reactions in solutions, etc.<br><br><\/li><li>\u00a0the MSS can also be used for assessment of various materials like organic conductors, magnetic and superconductor materials in torque magnetometry. <br>NANOSENSORS currently offers three MSS sensors which can be used for this type of application: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/blog\/new-mss-sensor-for-torque-magnetometry-added-to-the-special-development-list\/\" target=\"_blank\">SD-MSS-1KTM<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/blog\/two-new-mss-sensors-for-torque-magnetometry-added-to-the-special-developments-list\/\" target=\"_blank\">SD-MSS-1KPMAl <\/a>and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/blog\/two-new-mss-sensors-for-torque-magnetometry-added-to-the-special-developments-list\/\" target=\"_blank\">SD-MSS-1KPMAu<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To find out more please have a look at the<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/JP_VoLrGVXs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> video<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mss-sensor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NANOSENSORS\u2122 MSS webpage<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/pdf\/SpecialDevelopmentsList.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NANOSENSORS\u2122Special Developments List<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On these pages you will not only get more information on which types of MSS Sensors are currently available but you will also find further information on the NANOSENSORS\u2122 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/blog\/nanosensors-introduces-mss-8rm-a-readout-module-for-membrane-type-surface-stress-sensors-mss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MSS 8 Channel Readout Module ( MSS-8RM <\/a>).
