{"id":4160,"date":"2018-03-08T11:28:24","date_gmt":"2018-03-08T09:28:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nanosensors.com\/blog\/rd-news-new-mss-sensor-dedicated-for-torque-magnetometry-under-development\/"},"modified":"2023-03-15T14:53:16","modified_gmt":"2023-03-15T12:53:16","slug":"rd-news-new-mss-sensor-dedicated-for-torque-magnetometry-under-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/blog\/rd-news-new-mss-sensor-dedicated-for-torque-magnetometry-under-development\/","title":{"rendered":"R&#038;D News: New MSS Sensor Dedicated for Torque Magnetometry under Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a recent blogpost we shared the news that NANOSENSORS<sup>TM<\/sup> Membrane-type Surface-stress Sensors (MSS) could successfully be used for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nanosensors.com\/blog\/new-method-for-torque-magnetometry-using-a-commercially-available-membrane-type-surface-stress-sensor\">torque magnetometry <\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We have therefore decided to develop a new MSS series sensor chip that is dedicated to measure force and torque.<br \/>\nThe new sensor chip will be called SD-MSS-1KTM and is currently in the beta testing phase.<\/p>\n<p>The new sensor chip shares the common MSS features, <em>i.e.,<\/em> a membrane (or platform) supported with four beams on which piezoresistors are embedded at the fixed ends.<\/p>\n<p>In the newly developed sensor chip dedicated for torque magnetometry however, those sensing beams are much longer than those of the currently available MSS chips and form \u201cbending\u201d and \u201ctorsional\u201d axes.<\/p>\n<p>Further technical information will be announced upon an official product release.
